It’s no surprise to most that the setting for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will once again be Manhattan Island in New York. However, the game’s map has been expanded to include not just Manhattan, but also Queens and Brooklyn, significantly increasing the overall coverage of the game’s setting.
At some point, Peter Parker obtains the symbiote costume and begins utilizing it in addition to his regular Spider-Man duties. Miles Morales has returned this time as well, and he is plainly aware that the symbiote suit appears to be transforming Peter. It’s unclear how this all fits together, and we still don’t know how Peter got his hands on the suit in the first place.
Towards the end of Marvel’s Spider-Man, you can see Harry Osbourne floating in a tank, surrounded by what seems to be a symbiote.We know Venom will play a significant role in the game, but how things progress from Harry to Peter and finally to Venom is unknown.

Fortunately, we have a substantial amount of gameplay to analyze in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The main attraction here is that Peter Parker’s Spider-Man can use the symbiote suit, earning him the moniker “acrobatic improviser.” Furthermore, it looks like this adds additional fighting powers, such as a massive slam attack that may take out numerous adversaries at once.
In terms of traversal, we noticed that this time, both Miles and Peter have wing suits, which help you move faster than before. You can use these suits to ride the trailer’s air currents and seamlessly combine them with web-swinging.
At times during the game, it appears that you can switch between playing as Miles and Peter. At the moment, it’s unclear whether this is linked to plot beats or more based on when the player wishes to switch.
In general, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 appears to be a big upgrade on the gameplay featured in the previous two games. There is a greater emphasis on combat aggression and the raw force of the new outfit.

Introducing Kraven the Hunter? Venom?
In the latest video for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, we’re introduced to a new threat: Kraven the Hunter, a long-standing adversary of Spider-Man. Tired of his usual hunting grounds, Kraven sets his sights on Manhattan.
The plot thickens when it’s revealed that Kraven is hunting Dr. Kurt Conners, also known as the Lizard. Spider-Man donned in the Symbiote outfit, springs into action to protect Connors and confront the hunters.
Meanwhile, Miles Morales, equipped with a new gliding ability, is tasked with defending Connors and taking down a warehouse full of gangsters using his own Spidey powers. He’s aided by a drone operated by his comic-book friend Ganke.
The duo eventually reunites in the warehouse, capturing the Lizard and embarking on a city-wide chase with the hunters hot on their trail. In an intense pursuit sequence, Miles tackles hunters on jet skis while Peter chases drones. However, Peter’s single-minded focus on defeating Kraven leads to a critical mistake that sends him and Miles plunging into the ocean where the Lizard awaits.
This triggers another chase sequence as Miles tries to escape the Lizard. The scene ends with Miles expressing concern for Peter, who seems to be behaving unusually.
