Guide To Secret To Glowing Face And Skin Care Routine
My skin was no longer healthy and youthful. I was giving my face a heavy dosage of experiments every day just in the greed of glowing skin! Think of it this way, your tummy is full but still, you are eating. Won’t you feel sick! This exactly happens with the skin. That’s when I realized that my skin wanted some space to breathe, some break from different experiments and skin care every day.
We fall for the cute and imaginary traps of DIYS claiming they know our skin type, claiming they have tried things themselves, claiming things will work out no matter what.
But less is more. While we think of getting glowing, getting beautiful skin we tend to move in the direction of caring too much. Your skin doesn’t need too much of care. Now, I will be telling you the tips that I got from my dermatologist on glowing and beautiful skin. So, it’s the kind of knowledge that you can trust.
Know Your Skin Type
First and foremost, know your skin type. Without knowing your skin type even the most expensive and best products can do harm rather than doing any good. So, know your skin type and use products accordingly. Let me tell you what are the skin types and the products which you can use according to it.
Normal Skin – A person with normal skin is indeed lucky and can use any mild products on the skin without any fear.
Dry Skin – A person with dry skin should use cream-based products and mild products to avoid drying and itching.
Oily Skin – People with oily skin don’t carry the fortune card with them as oily skin is highly prone to acne, infections, and a lot more. However, a person with oily skin should go with gel-based products like gel-based sunscreen, gel-based face-wash, and more.
Combination Skin – People with combination skin have active oil glands in the T Zone of their face and dryness around the chin area and cheek area. So, a person with combination skin should use only mild products.
Sensitive Skin – People with sensitive skin get red patches, irritation, and itchiness too frequently. They should use only extremely mild products with almost zero parabens, alcohol, and minimum chemicals.
Once you know your skin type, always choose your products according to it.
What You Eat is What You Get!
Yes, whatever you eat reflects on your face. When you eat healthy and fresh stuff, it reflects on your face in the form of a soft glow. Now, when you eat all that junk food and oil, it shows up in the form of acne and dullness on your face.
So, eat healthy. It should not be an option but a habit. Sometimes, you can go out and eat your favorite junk food but frequent consumption results in deterioration of the entire inner system.
Include fruity and citrus-rich fruits in your diet to get that glow. Glowing skin is directly related to Vitamin C and the body gets Vitamin C from sour fruits and vegetables like Oranges, Lemon, and more. So, remember it from now onward, for glowing skin, you’ll need Vitamin C and for Vitamin C, you’ll need fruits like Oranges, Lemon, and more.
Stay Hydrated No Matter What
You must have heard every celebrity swearing at least 8 glasses of water a day for their healthy skin. Now, this is something that you can trust. Your body needs water and do you know that the glow on your skin is also because of water? You have to have at least 8 glasses or more water in a day to look glowing and youthful.
Your skin restores the moisture from the water content in the body due to which you get a very soft glow. So, without water, your body and skin will become like soil, all breaking and dry!
Cleansing is a Must!
Keep your face free from dust, germs, and all kinds of environmental pollution. Now, I know this is easier said than done but anyway, you’ve to do it.
The germs, dust, and other pollutants are more like adulterants. They enter your skin and reach the layer beneath your skin where they lead to blockage of pores resulting in breakouts, an increase in melanin production resulting in dullness, and adverse effects on the skin tone. This list doesn’t end here as there’s a lot that happens when dust, germs, and pollutants form a layer on your skin.
For cleansing your face, you should always start with plain water followed by some mild wash twice a day, in the morning and at night. Also, you should keep cleaning your face with plain water every time you step out in the sun.
Don’t Forget to Apply Some More Sunscreen
We always thought that sunscreen is only for sun protection but it’s more important than what we have always thought of it.
Sunscreen is a must. There’s no way you should step out without sunscreen. Rays of the sun reach deep down your skin, deeper than you could ever imagine, and there they affect collagen production, and melanin production causing in dullness, tanning, breakouts, and more.
Keep Yourself Active!
Your body has to remain active even on the busiest job days. More or less, everyone has got into a 9–5 schedule, lives have got busier than ever, and finding time for exercising has become almost impossible so, what to do?
Walk. At least Walk
Now, when you walk the blood circulation in your body will increase, and you’ll shed some sweat out now, these things will only result in radiant skin.
Stop Using a lot of Cosmetic Products
Yes, don’t. Please don’t!
If you care for your skin don’t use a lot of products and even if you are using them do deep research on the ingredients, will they suit your skin type, and more. Remember, everything in the market is up for sale. So, you’ll have thousands of people around you who will count on their fingers the benefits of using some X Cream or Y Serum but stay away.
Just choose a simple and MILD face wash to clean your face. Then, jump to moisturizer if you are not too much into the toning segment. I recommend you use a light moisturizer according to your skin type with a limited chemical in it. If you don’t want to use a moisturizer then simply use aloe vera gel.
Using serums, and toners is completely optional and you can decide it according to your needs and even by consultation with a doctor.
Never Hesitate to Consult a Skin Expert Or a Dermatologist
Due to this web world, I started feeling as if I know everything, there’s nothing unknown to me. But I was a fool! After trying the DIYs from YouTube, I started having the breakouts all over my face but I continued with even newer DIYs thinking they would improve the condition. It never happened.
It took me 1 year to reach to a doctor. Now, I wonder, if I had gone to a skin specialist early in my life, I would have saved myself from a lot of acne scars.
So, in case of any doubts, you should just reach out to the skin doctor as it was they do, guiding us on the right skincare!
Sleep for At Least 8 Hours
Finally, this was all from my side on tips to get glowing skin which I shared from my personal skin care routine. I hope things will benefit you and may you get the most glowing and beautiful skin that the whole town admires!
Skincare Routine for Oily Skin
Oily skin, while frustrating at times, can be managed with a consistent skincare routine. This guide delves into the key steps and product choices specifically tailored to combat shine and achieve a balanced, healthy complexion.
Cleansing: The Foundation of a Shine-Free Canvas
Cleanse Twice Daily:
In your skin care routine Wash your face morning and evening with a gentle, water-based cleanser. Avoid harsh soaps that can strip natural oils and trigger excess sebum production. Look for cleansers containing salicylic acid, a beta hydroxy acid (BHA) that removes excess oil and helps keep pores clear.
Gel or Foaming Cleansers:
These formulas are ideal for oily skin as they effectively remove surface oil without leaving a greasy residue.
Exfoliation: Buffing Away Dullness and Excess Oil
Exfoliate 2-3 Times a Week:
Regular exfoliation removes dead skin cells that can clog pores and contribute to shine. Choose a chemical exfoliant with AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids) or BHAs for gentle yet effective removal of dead skin.
Avoid Harsh Scrubs:
Physical scrubs can irritate oily skin. Opt for chemical exfoliation or gentle scrubs with finely ground particles.
Toning: Balancing and Refining (Optional)
Alcohol-Free Toners:
Traditional toners often contain alcohol, which can be drying for oily skin. Look for alcohol-free toners formulated with hydrating ingredients and antioxidants to balance the skin’s pH without stripping moisture.
Consider Skipping Toner:
Toners aren’t essential for all skin types. If your cleanser and moisturizer leave your skin feeling balanced, you may not need a toner.
Treatment: Targeting Specific Concerns
Serums with BHAs or AHAs: These lightweight formulas address specific concerns like enlarged pores and blemishes. BHAs penetrate deep within pores to clear excess oil, while AHAs help with surface texture and cell turnover.
Clay Masks: Use a clay mask once or twice a week to absorb excess oil and impurities. Apply it to cleansed skin and leave it on for the recommended time before rinsing thoroughly.
Moisturizing: Hydration is Key, Even for Oily Skin
Oil-Free Moisturizers: Contrary to popular belief, oily skin still needs hydration to prevent the overproduction of sebum. Choose a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer that provides hydration without clogging pores. Look for ingredients like hyaluronic acid or glycerin.
Gel-Based Moisturizers: These lightweight formulas provide hydration without feeling heavy on oily skin.
Sun Protection: Non-Negotiable for All Skin Types
Daily SPF 30 or Higher: Regardless of skin type, daily sunscreen use is essential. Choose an oil-free, non-comedogenic sunscreen that protects against UVA and UVB rays.
Additional Tips for Oily Skin
Wash Your Face After Sweating: Rinse your face with lukewarm water after sweating to remove sweat and prevent clogged pores.
Blotting Papers: Keep blotting papers on hand to absorb excess oil throughout the day. Use them by gently pressing them on your skin, don’t rub.
Maintain a Healthy Diet: A balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains can contribute to overall skin health.
